just stop your crying,
its a sign of the times.
its a sign of the times.
Edward’s foot pressed down hard on the accelerator, it was basically flat to the floor. The meeting with Jane had gotten under his skin an extreme amount and had made anger bubble up in side of him that he hadn’t experienced in a long while. Who did she think she was?; Breaking in and lording herself around just because she was a member of the Volturi guard? His fist clenched tighter around the wheel, the leather cracking beneath, if he wasn’t careful he was going to crush it into dust. The fact that the Volturi thought that it was acceptable dropping in on them to “keep an eye on them” when there had never been any law broken in the first place was laughable. The only true reason that they had ever had any reason to monitor the Cullen’s was when Bella was human. Now they had nothing, and the truth of the matter was, Aro was scared; Edward had heard it in his thoughts before he left the clearing. The Cullen Coven was growing day by day, which of course caused a threat to Aro and his precious Volturi.
If he hadn’t gotten out of that house when he did, Edward was sure that he would have broken something; and it wouldn’t have been easily covered by one of Renesmee’s paintings. So he’d done the first thing he had thought of, climbed back into his shiny silver Volvo and hit the gas. He was currently bombing down the highway, heading nowhere in particular, though the signs that he flew past; a blur to a human eye but to a vampire still perfectly clear to read; indicated that he was heading towards Seattle. The speedometer was hitting 150mph as the vehicle swerved in and out of traffic, earning the occasional honk of a horn and shouting thought directed at him. He didn’t care though, he was still in a rage; any human should stay out his way right now.
It wasn’t long before Edward’s began to slow the Volvo; he’d reached the city limit and the traffic had picked up slightly; it was harder to move his car quickly when there was choc-o-block traffic. In order to distract himself, Edward’s long fingers prodded at the stereo system, and instantly soothing sounds of Debussy filled the car. It wasn’t enough to relax him completely, but it was enough for him to loosen his grip on the steering wheel; which now had noticeable Edward shaped finger dents. He had no idea why he was in Seattle. It was just far away from the house, but still close enough that if Jane confronted Bella or Renesmee, he’d be able to get back home quickly. The visit from one of the witch twins had definitely set him on edge. He had known that they were plotting something, he just hadn’t been sure what. Now he knew, they were going to pressure Alice, Bella and himself as much as they could until they cracked.
The traffic was getting worse as he got closer to the city centre. So instead of waiting patiently, Edward pulled off into a side street in search of a parking space. Soon enough, a beat up Toyota was pulling out of a space, right as Edward approached. He pulled the Volvo into the curb and was parked up in moments. Before stepping out into the street, Edward took a few deep breaths, an action that he’d learnt from humans when he needed to calm himself. If he still had blood pumping around his body, right now it would be boiling. Once he was sure he was in control of himself a little more, Edward gracefully climbed out of the Volvo and made his way down the street, clicking the lock button on his keys over his shoulder as he did. A group of girls spotting him and instantly began trying for his attention; but Edward’s attention was firmly else were today; he didn’t even notice them much to their disappointment.
With nowhere in particular that he had to be, Edward wandered aimlessly. Human’s had it easy, when they had nothing to do, they could go to the bar or to get food; but as a vampire consuming anything human was never a great experience, and going to sit in a bar or café with at least ordering something was a little weird; even to Edward. And right now he was in no mood to put on his human charade and force down a coffee or something. So instead, he found himself standing outside a casino arcade. He’d never been one for gambling or playing video games; but some mind numbing activities were just what he needed right now. So he slipped in through the door and made his way towards a motorbike racing game. Dipping his hand into his jean pocket, he fished out a few quarters, and popped them into the machine as he climbed upon the fake motorbike and began a race.
