MEMBER GROUP GUIDELINES
PLEASE REVIEW THESE GUIDELINES BEFORE CREATING YOUR CHARACTERS
GENERAL001. The site is set in 2007; one year after the events in the clearing against the Volturi.
002.Major canon face claims are generally NOT open to be changed - this includes any of the Cullen's, Quileutes, Volturi, Humans and Denali coven. However, If the character isn't really developed in the books or the description in the books is different to the physical appearance of the actor/actress , you can have a little more wiggle room with it. The face claim you choose to use instead must be fitting the character description given by Stephanie Meyer. Admins reserve right to accept or deny desired face claims for these characters.
003. Original plot ideas that include canon characters cannot be included in original characters biographies and must not be plotted without the role player of that canon character's permission. This includes mating for vampires, imprinting for shifters and relationships for humans. This being said, original characters cannot be part of existing covens/packs without the coven leader/pack alphas permission. If we do not currently have a coven leader/pack alpha, we're sorry but you'll have to wait.
004. In order to create another character, please ensure that your current character(s) is(are) thoroughly developed, plotting with others and involved in active threads. We love getting new characters here, but all of them need to be equally active and developed.
005. Your character application is a chance for you to flesh out your character and develop them before you plot and play them with other characters on Sunrise to Sunset. Use it to tell us about them; what they like, dislike, their history, family, hopes and dreams and so on. We want to get to know them! The better planned your character is, the easier you will find it to create plots for them with other members. It should not include details of events that haven't happened yet and it should not include the history of other characters (original or canon).VAMPIRES001. The process of transforming from human into vampire is canon. Stephanie Meyer states that the process is excruciatingly painful - it feels like being burned alive. Depending on the amount of venom and location/distance from the heart, the length of transformation period will vary; usually between 2-5 days. Transformation from human to vampire is described as being "the sharpest memory they have of their human life."
002. Upon being a new born, a vampire must display standard canon newborn traits: vibrant crimson irises, increased strength and unquenchable thirst that drives them crazy. A newborn's thirst for blood is overwhelmingly and relentlessly painful, and they will feed as much as possible to curb it. During the 'New Born' year, they are much more animalistic and wild than their older counterparts. It is very unlikely that a newborn would be able to be around humans without attacking. Even if they are able to, and are 'vegetarian vampires' they would be in a lot of pain and prefer to be away from them whenever possible and spending prolonged periods of time around humans would take lots of practice and restraint.
003. When a human becomes a vampire, all of his natural behavior, needs and characteristics are frozen within him forever, though they are also heightened at the same time. From the moment a vampire is made, his interests, dislikes and personality are permanently petrified. For instance, if a human with a loving character becomes a vampire, his or her passion is magnified, allowing him or her to love others even more intensely. The only aspect that does change is the vampire's outlook on the world.
004. Having an extra special ability in a vampire is rare, meaning that not every vampire will have one. If they are one of the lucky few, it must be linked to something they were able to do well in their human life, they become intensified in the resulting vampire. For example, a human who was very sensitive to other people's moods might develop the vampire ability to read thoughts or influence emotions. They will have only one extra ability if any. Most vampire gifts are manifested in the mind, though there are certain exceptions that are physical. No gift ever works in the exact same way in two vampires, because no person (human or vampire) is ever exactly the same.SHIFTERS001. The Quileutes only began shifting again because the Cullen's were in Forks. As more and more vampires began comping through the area, more and more of them began shifting. If you are creating an original shifter, please keep this in mind. There would have been a reason for their shifting to be activated.
002. Young shifters are unlikely to be able to control their phasing; often shifting forms whenever they become angry. This unpredictability combined with the massive size of the wolf form makes is dangerous to be in close proximity to humans during the change; it could result in unintentional injuries or even accidental death. Over time, they will gain control over their phasing and be able to do it on command.HYBRIDS001. Hybrids are extremely rare. A gifted hybrid is even rarer. They all will have increased heartbeats (sounding a little like a humming birds wings fluttering) and warmer body temperature than a human (although not as hot as a shifter). They will also have a unique scent. All of these things would not be able to be hidden from vampires or shifters. They may not know that they are a hybrid human/vampire but they would definitely know it was not human.HUMANS001. Humans generally will have no idea about the supernatural creatures that live among them. Of course, there are exceptions; and can be plotted to thread out on this site. But as a general rule of thumb, they are unaware of vampires, shifters, hybrids etc until necessary.
