big bad monkey man
Emmett strolled causally across the grass with a unopened bottle of mineral water in his hand. He was currently here alone though he hoped to run into someone he knew. A carnival was better when it was shared with someone else. He wished his Rose was here but unfortunately, she had other plans. He was a big boy though, he could entertain himself.
It was a good day for a carnival. The weather was good. Not too warm or cold. The afternoon sky was clear but not sunny and there not too many people here yet. Emmett assumed it would get more crowed once it got dark and the colored lights on the rides came on.
The air was full of a medley of scents from the variety of carnival food. Emmett watched to people who passed him with corm dogs, caramel apples and pop corn. None of it appealed to him of course but junk food was clearly booming here. He eyed the game booths as he passed them. The operators called out to patrons. Trying to lure people into trying their luck. Emmett was considering playing a few games to see how he fared. He did pause he and there though. Looking at the prizes.
Not yet though. The rides were what Emmett came for really. He loved the thrill. A carnival wasn't at par with places like Disney World or other big theme parks but it did do the trick. He walked past the kiddie rides like the carousel and tea cups. He paused at the bumper cars but again that was better with someone you knew. Instead, Emmett head further along towards the roller coasters.
There looked to be a few good ones this year. Emmett got in line for the first coaster he came to. No loops but some big drops. There were about a dozen or so people ahead of him as he moved along the metal grate queue line.

I'VE GOT DEMONS RUNNING ROUND IN MY HEAD
and they feed on insecurities i have. | E dward ran swiftly through the forest towards the small cottage that she shared with Bella and Renesmee. The cottage itself had been renovated and presented to the couple as a birthday gift to Bella; although honestly with the timing it was more of a 'happy vampire transformation day'. The wind whipped around him as his feet pounded the earth below him. No matter how many times he ran, he would never get bored with the sense of freedom it gave him. Upon arriving at the quaint cottage however, he found it empty; the scents left there were faint, which told him that no one had been here since that morning. Knowing his family though, Alice had probably dragged the girls out shopping and they were going to be out for at least the remainder of the day.
The bronze haired vampire decided to change into a light blue shirt, a dark blue jacket and a pair of jeans that Alice had restocked the wardrobe with before heading out to see if he could find anyone to spend some time with. Edward never really understood people’s obsession with fashion, but he liked to look smart. Over the years he had learnt that the more smart and normal he dressed, the less attention people paid him; other than the usual gawking over how attractive they found him anyway. First he checked the main Cullen’s house, but again like the cottage it was empty. Everyone was apparently busy today. Instead he decided to take a run through the forest again, to see if he could find any of his family’s trails.
It wasn’t long before he picked up Emmett’s scent. Emmett was the brother that Edward felt most relaxed around; he had been the one of the ones that had supported and encouraged him throughout all of his and Bella’s relationship; no matter what trouble got thrown at them. It surprised Edward that as he followed the trail, it let directly towards the cheesy carnival that had apparently taken up permanent residence in Forks. He’d been here a few times himself; with his wife on a date night and his daughter… but he never imagined hanging out with his brother here… the Cullen’s had always been more of a hunting family trip activity than a family day out kind of family… but maybe that was time for a change.
Crossing the grass, Edward headed into the carnival; once again the smell of human blood mixing with the cotton candy, funnel cake and candy apples that were famously associated with carnivals. The mix was sickly sweet and the sugar that was being absorbed by the humans’ blood stream was making it even more attractive. Ugh. Shaking his head, Edward held his breath as he moved through the crowds, listening for thought’s of Emmett to track him down. It took minutes to find the burley Emmett Cullen in line for a ride; of course a large rollercoaster. ”Mind if I cut in?” he asked, with a grin.

big bad monkey man
Slowly he was getting closer to the loading bay. You would think that having lived as long as Emmett had would have taught him patience. That was proving not to the case. It seemed like he had been waiting here forever. Listening to the humans around him chattering happily to each other around him. He periodically shifted his weight back and forth, passing time. His eyes tracked the cars of the coaster as it rumbled along the track ahead of him with screaming riders. Emmett's brain was just registering Edwards scent and then he was there.
Emmett smiled back. "Of course big brother." Emmett replied with a grin. He wasn't sure if Edward was going to hop the railing or if he was going to walk around to the start of the line and then make his way back through the people but wither way, he did not doubt that there would be grumbling and complaints from the others. No matter. Emmett was happy to have someone to ride with. Once Edward was in line with him, Emmett chuckled. "I thought you'd be with Bella today." He said. "Or Nessie." He shifted the water from one hand to the other.
Slowly the line moved. As they got closer to the front of the line, Emmett got more excited. He tried to keep up a conversation with Edward as they waited and when it was finally their time to board the coaster, he was like a big child. Everyone seated, the restraints in place, the ride started with the coaster starting up the first hill. Emmett brought his arms up over his head and gave a howl of excitement that started a chain reaction with the other passenger. In the front row, he had a view of the whole carnival and what a view it was.

Rosalie had searched through her endless wardrobe space searching for the right attire “ where on earth could it be” she spoke to herself as she folded her arms annoyed at the fact she misplaced her favorite top, it was just her luck she had finally got the house alone with Emmett and she couldn’t find the top that would make her monkey man drop the banana. Rosalie had plans and she made it clear to Emmett telling him she had a surprise for him, of course what she wasn’t aware of was the fact Emmett had gone out. Rosalie finally found an alternative attire and laid on the couch in the bedroom she shared with Emmett “ Emmett, Oh Emmett” the immortal waited she checked her phone and saw five minutes had past. Rosalie had started to grow impatient “ Emmett?” the blond spoke filled with concerns that her sexy beast was no longer in the house, she climbed off the couch and ventured the family home in a skimpy outfit, that consisted of her wearing a white top with rips in it a black skirt with fishnet stockings and very sexy black heels she looked around calling for her real life Tarzan and stopped in the living room. Rosalie looked left and right, she folded her arms “ If I was a big playful dofus who loved games where would I be” she asked herself, as she looked down she looked down at the couch and saw a newspaper advertising the carnival, Rosalie glared for a moment, surely he wouldn’t have left without her and then she recalled him inviting her to go out during her routine of brushing her hair, the immortal blond’s glare turned into a scowl “ EMMETT!!!!!!!!!!” the blond yelled in annoyance, the annoyance was quick to fade as she remembered his dimples and she sighed, looking down at her attire she knew she’d have to get changed last thing she wanted to do was get arrested by her sister-in-law’s father for indecent exposure. The young blond returned to her bedroom and kicked off the heels shaking her head, she couldn’t believe she didn’t hear his invite that would have been such a romantic night, but then again Emmett talking to her during her beauty routine was unfair she worked hard to be beautiful for herself, and for Emmett too. Rosalie undressed completely and redressed going bra less and wearing an off the shoulder white top and wearing her favorite pair of ripped jeans, the immortal knew heels were out of the question so she pulled on the boots and did her hair up, as Rosalie pulled on her necklace with the Cullen family crest she walked towards the door and grabbed her black purse. The antagonized blond scowled thinking about her monkey man, in her opinion he should have picked her up and threw her over his shoulder, but well he was a man and men weren’t perfect. Rosalie made her way to her convertible and drove to the carnival, the drive was fast she sniffed the air and smelled the scents of human, she could smell the scent of Edward, and her beloved dofus. Rosalie had made her way towards the heart of Emmett’s scent and saw him on a roller-coaster going nuts, he was like a six year old on two cans of energy drinks, she smiled seeing his expression with her vampiric vision that dork…he is so cute, he’s lucky he’s too cute to stay mad at…well he doesn’t have to know that okay get your game face on rose[/i] Rosalie thought to herself, she placed a hand on her hip and shot a scowling glare at Emmett, there was no way in the world she was mad at her monkey man, even if he did unintentionally ruin her plans, if only he had played his cards right, he could have been riding a different roller-coaster, she waited to see his expression and despite wanting to smile at the thought of making him scared she kept a straight face and couldn’t wait for a hug from her dofus. rosalie's attire

I'VE GOT DEMONS RUNNING ROUND IN MY HEAD
and they feed on insecurities i have. | E dward had never been on for funfairs or amusement parks; even when he was human rides never really appealed to him. He had enjoyed going to the circus and freak shows with Elizabeth, but that was mainly because he was with her. She had been the centre of his world, and he had been hers. His memories of her were fuzzy these days; but he remembered small things like this. Now as a vampire, he failed to see how any rides at a carnival like this could be exciting or thrilling. He would much rather run through the forest or go cliff diving. Now they were invigorating activities. Despite his own indifference though, Edward had ridden some of the rides here with Bella the other day on their date day and again with his daughter.
He couldn’t help but chuckle to himself at Emmett’s impatient thoughts and body language as he got closer to his brother. Vampires didn’t have to display any human body movement including breathing, but it was habit for most of them now after years of trying to blend into human society without drawing any more attention to themselves. Emmett was like a child at times, too absorbed in whatever was entertaining him to notice things going on around him; like Edward approaching him until he was standing next to him. With a curt nod of his head, Edward unhooked the metal fence that encaged the queuing people, slipped into the line and re-hooked it with ease behind him.
Human’s began to shout complaints towards the bronze haired teenager, ”Dude, you’re totally cutting! … You can’t cut in! … Get to the back of the line!” some of them called; their thoughts were a little more colourful but Edward tried to tune them out. As a vampire, Edward knew that he had the ability to turn around and dazzle them – as he had once done to Bella unintentionally of course – into forgetting that he had cut in. Or he could turn around and terrify them with a hunters look. But he didn’t like to use those talents on innocent humans. So instead, he kept facing the front, ignoring the humans all together. He shrugged his shoulders lightly, his hands folded across his chest. ”Bella is out with Alice I believe, and so is Renesmee. Or with Jacob.” he replied. ”I would have thought you’d be with Rosalie?”
It wasn’t long before it was time for them to be seated on the rollercoaster, and they were restrained using flimsy bars of metal. For a moment, Edward let himself listen to the hyper thoughts of those also on the ride; they were all bubbling with excitement, waiting for the adrenaline rush to hit them with the first dip of the rollercoaster – Emmett was one of them. Shaking his head in amusement, he linked his fingers together in front of him over the metal and tried to enjoy the feeling of the car ascending up the track and into the air. The wind rushed around them, musing Edward’s bronze hair and washing the smell of carnival food mixed the human scents all around them. He was trying hard to concentrate on blocking out the smell of human’s when something – no someone – caught his attention. First their thoughts and quickly followed by her scent. Rosalie. ”Uh bro, Rosalie’s here and I don’t think she’s particularly happy,” As he spoke, the car dropped down the first dip quickly, the ground rushing up at them causing the humans to scream out in fear. It only made Edward chuckle. Here they were sat in close proximity to two vampires and they had no idea yet they were screaming at a ride. Ironic.

big bad monkey man
Emmett heard Edward's as they came over the peak of the hill. He looked down towards the ground and his fell quickly on Rosalie. Edward was right. She did not look happy and Emmett had a strong feeling that he was the bee in her hair. His smile faltered for a moment but there was nothing that he could do about it right now. The roller coaster spun around a sharp corner at the bottom of the hill and then she was behind them. Emmett cursed under his breath.
He would be lying if he said he no longer enjoyed the rest of the ride but now Rosalie was on his mind too. He hate when she was mad at him. It meant he got the silent treatment. Emmett looked at Edward was they took another turn. "What did I forget?" Emmett asked Edward as if Edward could tell him why Rose was angry. It was not long enough before the train pulled back into the loading station.
Emmett got out when he could and and then waited and let Edward lead the way. As his feet touched the grass, Emmett put a smile on his face. "Hey, Babe." Emmett Called to Rosalie as he stepped around Edward and wrapped his strong arms around his wife. The move brought jealous looks from passerby's of both sexes. He added a kiss to her bare shoulder for good measure. "You look good." He mused letting his eyes run over her slowly. "Want to join us on another ride?" He asked after a moment and motioning to Edward. Emmett seriously had no idea why she would be angry. What's next, man?" Emmett asked his brother.
Honestly, he just wanted to have some fun today. He had wanted to get out of the house. Get some fresh air and some laughs. Emmett looked around scoping out what else he wanted to do. tag: love words: xxx outfit: click! notes: xxx

I'VE GOT DEMONS RUNNING ROUND IN MY HEAD
and they feed on insecurities i have. | E dward had spent many of his years subjected to Emmett and Rosalie’s relationship. Unlike Carlisle and Esme and Alice and Jasper, this couple were all about the public displays of affection. Most people were able to switch off from them, but sadly, poor Edward didn’t have that luxury when he was subjected to hearing their thoughts clearly for miles seen as he was so attuned to them both. He had worked hard to try and tune them out, but even with his experience of drowning thoughts out into white noise at the back of his mind; sometimes they were just so damn loud.
Carlisle had brought Rosalie into the coven under the assumption that she would be to Edward what Esme had been to him, but of course it hadn’t worked like that. Edward viewed the blonde as nothing more than a sister; and had been extremely happy for her when she had found her mate in Emmett. Emmett was the brother than Edward had always wanted; he never took anything too seriously and always provided the family with a little light humour. With everything that had gone on recently, it was very much welcomed.
The rollercoaster sped up here and there and dipped and climbed up high; and Edward tried to enjoy it; but the truth of the matter was; there was just no adrenaline rush there. Emmett’s wide grin throughout the ride though made Edward chuckle to himself. Edward had always been the serious, pessimist member of the coven; always brooding quietly over something or another. It was only recently that he had been able to start relaxing and getting in touch with his human side again, that was all thanks to Bella. Before her, the idea of coming to a carnival like this would have been laughable. He would have been wandering through the forest or at home playing the piano alone instead of sitting here with his brother. Rosalie may have been Emmett’s angel who saved him from that bear in Tennessee, but Bella was his angel who had saved him from himself.
Even from the top of the coaster, Edward could hear Rosalie’s thoughts. She was pissed, but at the same time, now she could see Emmett, it was starting to ebb away. ”To invite her?” he replied, with a low laugh and a shake of his head. His sister was known for being high maintenance, she liked attention from anyone and everyone, but specifically from her mate. The fact that Emmett had gone out without her when she had been planning a special night for him was of course going to set off fireworks. Emmett being Emmett thought, Edward didn’t know why Rosalie was surprised.
The ride skidded to an end and Edward gracefully climbed out of the cart; letting the humans swarm off in front of him like the gentleman he was. They were all chatting excitedly about how awesome the ride had been and how about they wanted to ride it again. Edward had to roll his amber eyes at that one; wasn’t once enough? It wasn’t going to change any more times you rode it. Once the path was clear, he made his way towards where he’d seen his sister waiting. ”Rosalie,” he greeted her, with a nod of his head – ever formal was Edward. He was used to their PDA’s but the humans clearly were not. The thoughts and looks that were being shot in their direction were comical. ”Careful, I think some of those teenage guys are getting ready to try and chat up Rosalie,” he told them, with a raise of his eyebrows. Human’s today apparently thought that everyone was fair game to chat up; even if they were clearly in a relationship already.
Edward shrugged his shoulders at his brother’s question. Despite having been at the carnival a few times now, he still had no idea of what rides were good and which were not. He’d enjoyed the Ferris wheel with Bella when they’d had their date night, but something told him that Emmett wouldn’t enjoy it as much; it was far too slow. ”I think there’s some form of a giant wheel where gravity holds you in rather than a restraint in that direction,” Edward stuck his thumb over his shoulder. ”How about it?” It sounded dangerous, which was probably right up his street. The question was, would Rosalie agree or drag him off home.

Emmett Dale Cullen | Rosalie Lillian Hale ooc: I know I wasn't meant to reply next; but I thought it made more sense for Edward to reply seen as they were still on the coaster. Hope that's okay <3 credit to nat of adoxography.
