After returning home yesterday from the Carnival, Edward was feeling extremely content with his life. Finally things were calm and normal – well as normal as a vampire’s life could be anyway. He had spent the whole day with his wife, laughing and joking and just simply talking and enjoying each others’ company; just like any other newly married couple. Since they had become Mr and Mrs, Edward hadn’t really gotten to spend much time with his wife alone, so yesterday had been perfect; like a proper date. It turns out Carnivals weren’t as bad as Edward first thought. He’d even managed to win a few prizes.
Currently, Edward sat on the bench in front of the grand piano in the main Cullen house, his long fingers playing the lullaby that he had composed when Renesmee had been born before morphing into Bella’s lullaby. It was empty today, every busy doing their own things; hunting, working or probably in Jasper’s case, being dragged around shop after shop by Alice, Edward’s favourite pixie like sister. Edward never saw the fascination with fashion. As long as it covered his modesty and he looked sharp, well it worked for him. Usually you’d find him in a pair of jeans or slacks with a shirt of casual sweater; just like today, he chose a cream chunky knit sweater and a pair of light denim jeans and pair of boots.
His fingers flowed naturally and soon Edward found his mind drifting back to the carnival. He knew that his daughter would love it. Just like any father, Edward wanted to experience things with Renesmee. So many ‘firsts’ came so fast and with all the drama unfolding around them at the time with Irina and the Volturi so many of them had been over looked. But this was a perfect opportunity to take his two year old daughter – despite the fact she looked and acted much older she was still technically two – to a Carnival for the first time.
The finished playing the melody abruptly and grabbed his cell phone off of the top of the piano. Alice had recently gotten him an iPhone, thinking something along the lines that his other cell was so two thousands. What was wrong with that he didn’t know; as long as he could call Bella when he was away from her from it. But no, Alice insisted, and Alice always got her way. After tapping different icons and getting the wrong one, eventually he found Bella’s number and hit call. ”Hi love,” he spoke when she answered. ”Are you with Renesmee? I was thinking we could all go back to that carnival?”

▼ Bella was stretched out on the king sized bed at the cottage, Pride and Prejudice in hand for the one hundredth time, enjoying a little book time. She did adore reading, even more so when she had the time to spend indulging in her favourite classics without having to write an essay at the end. Not that she’d minded writing essays - in fact she had sort of enjoyed that too - but it was just nice to enjoy it on her own terms. She let out a sigh, popping her well used bookmark into place and closing the book softly. She flipped onto her back and spent a few minutes just gazing at the ceiling. Thinking back over the carnival her and Edward had stumbled upon the night before made Bella smile. It had been so much fun, a perfect date. She had also conquered her fears of being in a public place surrounded by people…humans that was. Sure, her throat had ached - but it was nothing a quick hunt that morning couldn’t fix. They’d never really done anything like that before…not to the same extent. It made Bella happy that Edward was more himself around her these days. Not totally carefree and relaxed in human company, but not treating her like a fragile object likely to break at any second. It felt like home. The melody sounding from her cell bought her back to reality, grabbing it off the bed beside her Bella glanced at the number. Edward. She smiled as he spoke, that voice would never get old or boring. “Hey you,” she replied, “That’s a good idea, but…Renesmee went off with Jake about, um, an hour ago? She left her cell here…” Bella thought for a moment, she knew he wouldn’t totally approve but what else could she do? She bit down on her lip, “I’ll text Jake, get him to meet us there with Renesmee? Say…20 minutes?” She held her breath and wrote up a quick text to Jake; Could you and Renesmee meet at the Carnival in Forks in 20?She clicked send and nodded, it would be good to have some famiy time, “I’ll head over now.” TAGGED Edward Anthony Cullen Jacob Black Renesmee Carlie Cullen

Jake had made plans with Nessie to go out. But to do what he did not know she had not really let him know what they had planned to do. Though her text was vague he did not mind as being apart from her made him nervous and anxious and all the better when he get to be with her. Jake had been up all night like a teenage boy in love texting Nessie about anything and everything. It was one of the latest in a line of phones that Jake had not broken through anger or sheer clumsiness. But i was working plus the threat of not been able to get another was enough for him to be careful. Though the night was long and the bit of sleep he did get he could not wait to make his way over to the little cottage and to spend the day with Nessie getting to know her more.
Jake still found it so strange that she should be just tottering around not this nearly fully developed girl/teenager/woman. Jake got up and sluggishly pulled on so shorts and grabbed a fresh t-shirt of his pile that was cleaned. He was glad his dad had help round the house again. He stumbled out and His father was already up and on the porch. His dad was still very suspicious of the Cullen’s and always let him know. Jake rolled his eyes and sighed like when he was younger and his dad told him the tirble things. “I will be careful now can i go i have to be on time.” He said as he set off on a short jog to the trees. Where he proceeded till he was fully engulfed in the shadows. Where he striped and bundled everything together before shifting. He stretched before he set off at full pace to the little house he had visited so much over the last 2 years.
His run did not last long before he slowed exhaling deeply as he brought his breathing back under control. There was no point him shifting back as he needed to be in his wolf state to keep up with Nessie. He howled to let her know he was there and waited. It had seemed like forever when she finally appeared at the door with her mother behind her. He still had a soft spot for Bella and that would never go away. He fought so hard for her to be still human but he was happy that Nessie had came from it all. A quick nod from Bella and he was back with his Nessie. She ran her hands over his head to greet him before setting off into the woods. They played as they ran a little seeing who could outrun each other and maneuver the fastest. She was a slender little thing. He just kept wondering where she was taking him. They had been running for a while and had gotten very far. The furthest they had been together. Was this meant to happen? He could tell she was slowing and he noticed a clearing coming up. She burst through the thick woods and he saw the sunlight bounce off her long hair. He slowed and kept in the darkness of the woods to shift back and get dressed. He slipped his phone into his pocket and walked out to meet Nessie. She always looked so beautiful more and more every day. She was growing into a fine girl inside and out. Jack would be going to back to school soon so the rear days that he could spend with her alone like this was good. The wind played with her hair as he walked over to her. “Well what have you got going through that pretty little head of yours to bring up all the way out here?” He asked. He wanted to bring her in for a warm embrace but anything too romantic made him a little uncomfortable. Yes she looked old enough but she was still a little girl in his head. He would have to come to terms with all the ageing and things.
Though their time together did get interrupted with a buzzing from his pocket. No one would be messaging him he was with Nessie the one person he kept in contact with the most. He pulled it out and Bella’s name was flashing across the top. He creased his head and frowned, was their something wrong why was Bella texting him? Pulling open the message his frown changed and turned into a smile. How could he whined Edward up this time. He thought as he mentioned it to Nessie. She agreed they should go as it would be fun. They were longer then 20 mins away at their top speed so Nessie set off and Jake followed after he had sent a quick message back. “Ye shore we will.” he shifted back and followed after Nessie heading to the Forks carnival. Though Bella's text was a little vague he was shore it was for fun why bring them to a carnival if not.

▼ THE HYBRID Daughter Nessie had spent most of the night texting Jacob a good number of things, even right now she couldn’t really recall exactly what they had been talking to. She had drifted off many times dropping her phone on her face until she he fallen asleep on her side her pink phone gently resting in her hands. She couldn’t help but he slightly jealous of her family who didn’t need sleep, there were so many hours in the night that she wasted just sleeping. The world was still so new and fascinating to the young girl and she hated missing out on anything.
Sitting up in bed Nessie looked at her phone and groaned, she had fallen asleep and forgotten to charge her now dead phone. Quickly she realized that Jake was probably on his way right now, quickly she glanced to her right into the mirror that was on her wall. Her long hair was a mess and of course she had fallen asleep in the eyeliner that she would probably get a lecture for wearing. With a groan the young hybrid pushed herself out of bed and quick rummaged through the drawers of her large oak dresser. She may not be that old but thanks to her Aunt Alice she had more cloths then she could ever wear though that never stopped her from wanting to go shopping with her aunt for more cloths. If it was up to Nessie she would wear cloths like the girls in her class. Shirts that were called crop tops which she owned but she kept in the back of her closet knowing that her father would probably not approve. A sly smile formed on the young girl’s face, she knew that girls at school would often put something on their parents wouldn’t approve of then put something on over top. Once at school they would take off the cloths on top and ta da they would be wearing what they wanted without getting some lecture. She moved away from the dresser and opened up her closet and pulling out a small black crop top and a pair of skinny jeans. Nessie grabbed a red scarf and made sure to put on her little charm bracelet which had a little wolf hanging from it, she hardly ever went out without her bracelet. She quickly pulled them on before grabbing a grey hoodie and zipping it up covering up her cloths.
Quickly she made her way to the front door as she heard a howl from outside “Mom I’m going out with Jacob” she quickly rushed out the door and made her way over to the familiar wolf, she could always figure out which wolf was her Jacob. He had been in her life since the day she was born and she considered him as just another part of the family even if he was a wolf. “Hello Jake” She said as she smirked and took off running.
She ran and ran and ran, she didn’t really have a place in mind but she loved to run. Renesmee had to admit being a hybrid made it surprisingly easy to walk in heels. She remembered her mother mentioning how much she had hated it when she had been human and Nessie had never really understood why, to her it was just another pair of shoes. Renesmee was still learning how clumsy humans were it wasn’t until she enrolled in school that she had actually started to notice it. She slowed her speed and looked around she hadn’t ever really been this far and she wanted to soak in everything around her “No reason” She said as she unzipped her hoodie revealing the outfit she was sure he father would hate as it showed off her midriff. She tossed the hoodie to the foot of a near-by tree and looked at Jacob a soft smile on her lips her long hair gently blowing in the light breeze. “I just haven’t been out this far yet” Everything was interesting to the young hybrid and there were still things that were new to her.
A soft frown twisted on her lips and her head tilted to the side as she noticed Jacob frowning ”Is anything wro-?" She cut her own words off when his frown turned into a smile and he mentioned meeting up with her parents. She nodded and headed off towards the carnival she had wanted to go to with her parents yesterday but it had been a date day just the two of them. It took them a little over twenty minutes to reach the carnival at their top speeds and it wasn’t until the carnival was in her sight that she realized she had left her hoodie resting in the roots of the trees twenty minutes away.
Taking a small breath Renesmee pushed through the crowned looking for her parents, she hoped that her father didn’t mind her outfit after all she was a teenage girl now physically and mentally; though she knew there were those in her family and even Jacob who still saw her as some kind of toddler.

Over the hundred and something years that Edward had been a vampire, sleep hadn’t really been something he had missed. He had always found something to occupy his time; studying, music, etc. But from the first time that he had crept into Bella’s bedroom and watched her sleep, he had longed to be able to dream. He was sure that he’d dream of her; just like he knew she dreamt of him. He hadn’t needed to be able to hear her thoughts to know that. The fact that she’d called out his name several times gave that away. Each time he’d heard his name fall from her lips in her slumber, his heart had felt like it was about to restart and jump out of his chest.
But now, of course, neither of them slept or dreamt. So they had to fill the endless amount of time they had with various other activities. Some were personal activities that they indulged in together once they were sure their daughter was fast asleep, while others were things as simple as listening to music together or Edward playing the piano while Bella read. When Renesmee had been born, she would only settle while being held, Edward would cradle her and hum lullabies until she drifted to sleep; images of the day and child like dreams flashing through her mind. It had fascinated Edward, watching how his daughter was observing the world around her.
While Edward was happy that they had found Nahuel who had been able to explain that she would soon stop aging and be forever frozen like the rest of the Cullen’s, he was still kind of uncomfortable at the rate that she was developing. To him, she was still his two year old baby girl, the little unique thing he held in his arms for hours at a time. He’d heard the thoughts of fathers over the years; how none of them wanted their little girls to grow up and not need them anymore, and he’d scoffed at the idea. Who would want someone who was completely dependent on them? But now it made sense. He and Bella had only had a short number of years with her so far, and it felt like she was already grown up and ready to flee the nest. Being a father was really bringing out the human side of Edward.
Upon hearing Bella’s voice on his phone, he exhaled a breath that he hadn’t even been holding. Even just hearing her made him feel like the piece he didn’t know had been missing from him had been found. ”Of course she did,” he grumbled, pinching the bridge of his nose between his thumb and index finger and pressing his eyes shut. It wasn’t a secret that Edward and Jacob didn’t see eye-to-eye. They never had. Shapeshifter’s and vampires were natural enemies. They had crossed paths the last time they had been in the Washington State area and the Quileutes had a long memory; even the tribe members that hadn’t even been born yet. It had later come to light that the Cullen’s and the few rouge vampires that had been passing through Forks had been the reason for the boys to begin phasing again. Originally, Edward and Jacob had used Bella as a pretext for their hatred, now it was Renesmee. Knowing that the mutt had imprinted on her had really put a bug up the golden eyed vampire’s ass.
”No, don’t – we can go another day…” Edward started to speak but he could already hear his wife tapping out a text to Jacob Black. Ugh. He knew that this meant that he would think the invite extended to him. He tolerated him being around most time for the sake of his daughter and wife, but today, he just wanted to spend time with his family. ”Fine,” he reluctantly agreed, more to himself than his wife. He stood up slowly from the piano and moved over to the window, looking in the direction of their cottage. Images of his wife pottering around their small collage or sitting reading one of her favourite books filled his thoughts and he felt the tension that had become present at the mention of Jacob, vanished. ”I’ll be waiting,”.
Ending the call, he shoved the device back into his jeans pocket. Edward headed out to the front of the Cullen’s house, leaning against the fence, waiting for his wife to get there. He caught her scent before she came into view. A smile spread across his face, as she stepped into his eye line. ”Bella,”. He let his perfect vision drink her in for a moment before he made his way over to her side and pressing a soft kiss to her lips. ”Let’s go take our daughter to the carnival,”

| B ella heard her husbands protests but to be honest, he needed to let Jake in just a little bit. He was a big part of their daughters life and unfortunately that was not going to change any time soon. She may not fall in love with Jake, but she wouldn’t be able to live without him, and visa versa. It was something Bella herself hadn’t been happy with at first, but at least one of her best friends would stick around - which had been something Bella had been afraid of when she’d turned. Jake had been there for her when no one else was, it was important he was still around. She hung up the phone and smiled, this was going to be fun…the carnival had been great fun the night before, with Nessie and Jake there to shake things up a bit - it would be even more interesting to see how the humans around them reacted. Of course, Bella would have to be less of a mom, these days her daughter only looks a couple of years younger than her - but still, it wasn’t every day she got to take her daughter out for normal human activities. Her cell buzzed, it was Jake. Awesome, they were on they’re way! She darted out of the cottage and up towards the house, only to see Edward stood outside waiting. Bella broke out with a beaming smile as she skipped over to where he stood. “Hey,” she replied, returning his soft kiss. She was never going to get bored of that. “Okay, let’s go…” she tiptoed up and kissed him on the cheek, before turning around and heading off to the carnival. It would be easier to go by foot - there was no where to park in town and they could make an easy escape if necessary. Grinding to a halt at the edge of the carnival, Bella turned to face Edward, “they might not be here yet…I’ll text Jake to meet us at the dodgems..” that had been one ride Bella hadn’t been on yet - and it did look like a lot of fun. Edward was probably going to have the vampires equivalent of a heart attack at the thought of repetitively crashing cars into each other, but it wasn’t as bad as that. Plus, crashing a car into Jake might be more fun for him, getting a little bit of father-style anger out. She tapped out a quick text to Jake ‘We’re here, by the dodgems, we’ll wait for you,’ Bella smiled, “Come on,” curling her hand around Edwards, she led him through the crowds. Her throat, although burning, wasn’t half as bad as the night before. Desensitising. Edward had mentioned that before, when she was human. Perhaps it really did work…well, sort of. She still took every precaution in holding her breath - not letting the scent in would probably be the best option. As they reached the dodgems, Bella turned back to look at her husband, “Edward, please behave…you know he’s a big part of her life,” she raised her eyebrow at him. |

▼ THE HYBRID Daughter Her eyes scanned the crowd as she looked for her parents though she quickly scolded herself for doing such a human act. She would be able to smell her parents far sooner than being able to see them; she closed her eyes and took in a deep breath. So many smells bombarded her at first there were the smells of popcorn and cotton candy. Oh! Cotton candy, she hadn’t yet tried that yet but she had seen it on tv and it looked so good. She would have to have Jake or her father buy her some. Oh and the rides, she could hear the rides and the people yelling with joy she needed to try some of those perhaps her mother would venture those ride with her. Focus once again she scolded herself to not let her mind get distracted, something that was often hard for her to do. When you were only on the earth for a short amount of time almost everything new was a distraction and almost everything was new.
The familiar scent of her mother slowly wafted to her nose and a small smile formed on her lips. “Come on Jake” She said as she headed in the direction not waiting to see if her wolf boy was actually following. She was being swept up in so all the excitement that she hadn’t really been paying attention to him. She pushed her way through the crowd as delicately as she could without being too rude though it was hard to be completely polite with so many people in one space. Nessie was lucky she didn’t have the thirst like full vampires did. Yes, the blood called to her but it was something she could control and something that didn’t burn her throat. She had to give her mother credit; she was able to control herself even when she was first turned. One of the many things that amazed her about her mother, that woman was probably the strongest woman she would ever meet.
“Excuse me” She said to a rather large woman as she squeezed by earning a very dissatisfied look from the older woman. Nessie frowned and made her way around the woman towards the scent of her parents. It was hard to believe there were this many people in one place, really the only time Nessie spent with a lot of humans was school. She lived in a small town and on top of that she lived in a house deep into the woods. She didn’t really venture into crowds very often especially since her family just happened to be a family of vampires.
Her hair flowed over her shoulders as she bobbed through the crowd slabbing between humans. Of course they didn’t know she wasn’t one of them, she was only part human the other part of her was vampire. She was an immortal being just as a vampire was. It meant her life would live on while all of these humans would die from old age hopefully. Her eyes fell on a beautiful brunette and a soft smile formed on her lips “Mom” She would always think her mother was the most beautiful woman she had ever seen.
“Mom!” She said slightly louder though to a human it would probably be considered a normal conversation tone. To a vampire though it was much louder, their hearing could pick up on much lower voices. She could probably speak at a whisper and her mother could still hear her in the crows. Renesmee pushed her hand far above her head and waved to her parents though when her eyes fell on her father she began to remember the outfit she had been wearing. The outfit she had hidden under a baggy sweater from her mother when she had walked out the door. She hoped that her father didn’t say anything about the crop top which was showing off her toned stomach. Not to mention the red pumps that she had bought with her Aunt only a week ago.

They had only just got some time alone and away from the parents to be like a real couple and they were wanting them back. He could not help but sigh a little in his head. But before he could complain they were back in civilisation. Jake held back and shifted and got back dressed. Nessie was already pushing through the crowed to find her family. Jake had there sent so he knew Nessie did to. He let her lead through all the people. He noticed that her personality had been adapting the last few months. She had been a lot more inquisitive and wanting to be in places like this. He guessed he had 18 years of exploring the world and she had 2. It was strange thought he pushed it to the back of his head. He did not want to put a downer on the day.
Nessie soon fought her way through the crowed to her parents with Jake in tow like a lots puppy. He nodded to Edward and smiled at Bella. "Hi, so......what have you got in store for us today Mrs Cullen." That was a bitter word to swallow in his head. He still held Bella close, he was thankful though as he would not have Nessie. Though he sometimes thinks he dost have her also. But he would try and be his upbeat self if it was only to wind Edward up. Jake slipped his arm around Nessies waist and pulled her in close. He felt like something was off so he looked down and pondered looking her over. Was she wearing that all the time he had been with her?
He looked down at her and asked "Have you always been wearing that?" He looked puzzled. Was he going to be the bad boyfriend for not noticing when something was different. The last thing he wanted to was to be in the bad books with Edward he thought all the time he looked at his daughter it was like Edwards eyes were boring into his head. Though the mind hearing thing did not help.

Sometimes it was easy to forget that Renesmee was just two years old. She looked physically like a teenager and often had the attitude to match. Since her birth, her development, both physical and mental, had been something that concerned Edward greatly; even after they had the concrete evidence from Nahuel that she was eventually going to stop physically aging and be perfectly healthy. Of course she was a special child, but Edward didn’t enjoy the knowledge that his daughter was aware of so much that at her real age she shouldn’t understand; including relationships with boys. To him she would always be that tiny baby that he would hold in his arms and let sleep for hours. Not the teenager who was the imprint of a wolf.
Edward’s relationship – if you could call it that - with Jacob had always and probably always would be complex. Not only were they natural enemies – vampire vs shifter - but also they had been rivals competing for the love of Bella Swan when she had been human. Despite the fact that those feelings had gone from both Jacob and Bella now; with the knowledge that he had been drawn to the Renesmee part of her, and now Jacob had imprinted on Renesmee, Edward still had those jealous feelings. It irrationally felt like this dog had to try and have a claim on anything that was Edward’s. Edward had only held Renesmee once before Jacob had claimed ownership over her. Of course he had been able to hear his thoughts and know that Jacob meant no ill intentions towards his baby girl, and only wanted to keep her safe and happy. But that was Edward’s job, he was her father!
It wasn’t a secret to anyone that the fact that the dog would often be included in their family plans these days caused Edward’s muscles to become tense. So, he spent the short run from the Cullen’s house to the carnival attempting to relax. He wasn’t going to let it spoil his day with his family; he would just be civil and pretend that he was just another human at the carnival passing by – a human that smelt really, really bad. Edward’s golden gaze fell upon his wife as he slowed to a human paced walk and entered into the carnival once again. The familiar smell of sugar and various other carnival food mixed with humans washing over him. It was a little easier to breath this time. A frown creased his brow lightly at the mention of the dodgems. He wasn’t exactly familiar with the rides and all their names, but he had picked up on a few human’s thoughts of the dodgems. ”What exactly is a dodgem?” he asked, clearly showing his age.
”You can’t be serious?” Yeah, he wasn’t exactly thrilled with the ride of choice. At least on a rollercoaster there was minimal contact with others and minimal chance of injury and blood being drawn. This looks like it could get a little rough. But his own thoughts were interrupted but his’ daughters’ thoughts bursting into his mind. ”They’re here…” he informed his wife, giving her hand a small squeeze. As if to reinforce his words, Rensmee’s voice drifted towards them as she made her way through the crowds, closely followed by Jacob. ”Renesmee,” he greeted, opening his arms towards her requesting a hug. Sure, they may be in public, but she was his daughter after all. ”I think you lost half of your top on the journey here,” he muttered, unimpressed. He wasn’t even going to comment on her shoes. They had Alice written all over them. Alice would get an ear full later.

It wasn’t long before Nessie heard Jacob behind her and after that her parent’s soon appeared in her sight. She bounded towards them throwing her body against her father’s in a loving hug. She loved her father more than she could even explain. She loved all her family members who had been willing to put their lives on the line just for her. “Yea I lost it” her voice was sing song and playful. She knew that he could tell she was just playing back at his words. She knew he know she didn’t lose half the shirt and she knew he would make some kind of comment on it. She hadn’t been planning to run into her father while out for a run with Jacob.
She stepped away from her father releasing him from her hug, her brown hair falling over her shoulders as she moved. A soft smile found a home on her lips as she pushed her hair behind her ear. She felt Jacob put his arm around her waist and her smile faltered for a moment. She loved Jacob, she was his imprint…but part of her hated having everything planned out for her. She wanted to explore the world around her. She wanted to be like the other girls at school who flirted with guys to get them asked to prom. She loved Jacob more than she could even put into words but she just wanted to experience as much as she could before her world was so set into stone. It wasn’t like she wanted to go out and get a human boyfriend she just wasn’t ready for a real boyfriend yet. Things were changing so fast for their friendship and she just wasn’t ready for what her parents had. She was still young she was still figuring out the whole life thing.
Her smile was quickly replaced by her soft smile she hoped that no one noticed her moment she had just had. It had only lasted a second or two but to a vampire a second could be much longer. Her gaze filtered through the carnival. “There are so many people here” she observed as her eyes surfed from person to person. It was always so much for her to try something new “What should we do first”. She pulled her body away from Jacob pretending to just be so excited she couldn’t stand still. “We should go on rides” She shook her head “No we should try some…what was it called?” her brows pressed together “Oh cotton candy” the hybrid shook her head “No, we should go see one of those little shows” Clapping her hands together Nessie gave a little hop her eyes spinning to her mother “Mom, what it your favorite thing to do here?”. | F or a second Bella’s idea of the dodgems faltered. Edwards reaction had her a little nervous - but Nessie appeared a lot older than other two year olds, so naturally she would have to act older too. Rolling her eyes, she elbowed her husband softly in the ribs, “it won’t be that bad, promise! You can ride with Nessie,” hoping to settle her husbands thoughts just a little. Besides, then she would get a bit of bestie time with Jake - something she hadn’t had for a long while. Back when Bella was human, her and Jake had a deep connection that no one would understand. Now it was explained in the form of Nessie - but sometimes Bella missed being her old self around Jake. She loved her life, her family and everything around her…but every now and then she longed for those human moments where she was just Bella again. Jake at least bought that back a little, even if he did smell like a dog that had been stuck out in the rain for an hour or more. Her head snapped round at the sound of Nessie’s voice followed by Edwards comment. Bella let a beaming smile spread across her face as her daughter approached them, looking beautiful as always and - of course - dressed to perfection. Alice would approve. “Hey love,” Bella whispered, wrapping her arms around her daughter for a brief moment before stepping back a little. “Ignore your father, you look lovely,” she shot Edward a look that meant there be no arguments with this, although Bella didn’t always approve there were times and places. “Hey Jake, how’s it going?” Wincing inwardly, Bella pretended like she didn’t see the interaction between the two of them. Something had been a little off for a while - but there wasn’t much any of them could do about it. Shaking the thoughts from her head, Bella grabbed Edwards hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze, “well, I thought we’d hit the dodgems first and then you can fill up on all the cotton candy you want…” Sure, her daughter might look eighteen but she was still a little girl at heart. “To save your father a heart attack, I think it best you ride with him…” raising her eyebrows at Edward, Bella grinned and took Jake by the arm to steer him toward the ride, “looks like you’re stuck with me…that okay?” She tugged his arm lightly, reassuring him. It was easier to still play Switzerland sometimes. |

Jacob felt a shift in Nessie when he had his arm around her. It was more to annoy her father then her but it sempt like it had done something to her. He didn't have magic mind powers like them he didn't know what was going on, However she had been acting this way for weeks. Would he have to walk away could he. Or would he turn into a crazy stalker watching her from the woods? The latter would be right for him. But he knew deep down that he had to let her work things out she was only young herself. He would be the friend she needs before anything else he had always told himself that. When she moved away from him trying to make it look normal his eyes flashed up to Edwards. Jake new from the moment them getting there he would be in his head. Nessie had dragged her father off and he felt the cold hands of Bella's on his arm. He smiled down to her. He hadn't been this close to her in a long time and even fewer since she has changed.
“I'm all yours” He said trying to be happy. He could not get over her cold hands he just wanted to try and warm them up for her like times before but he knew they would never warm up. He watched Nessie with her father holding back a little. Why did it have to be so hard. He also hoped that with all the noise Jack would get muffled out in ear shot too. “I've got to give her space haven't i ?” He said to Bella hoping she knew what he was on about. He let Bella guide then to the ride. Would this be fun. He felt a bit guilt for spoiling their family time together. A strange feeling had passed over him all of a sudden and it felt odd.
Climbing into one of the small bumper cars was strange he nearly fit the whole car alone. “Your behind the wheel Bella i'll press the pedal.” This way he didn't have to keep elbowing her, Thus that wouldn't matter she unbreakable now. The other reason he could not be glared at any more than he does form Edward. He would have to take it up with his wife.

Edward relaxed slightly at the thought of riding in a dodgem with his daughter; at least that way he’d have a little more control over protecting her from any danger, and plus having her close was a good way of keeping him calm, she was his totem. ”Fine. But I hope that you’re okay with having to hold your breath for the entire ride,” he muttered sarcastically with a small smile. Shifters smelt like really smelly dogs to Vampires; just as vampires smelt sickly sweet to shifters. Wrapping his arms around Renesmee, he squeezed her lightly and pressed a gentle kiss to the top of her head. Despite the fact that she looked almost the same age as them, she was clearly his and Bella’s child; the resemblance was just too uncanny for it to be a coincidence. He rolled his golden eyes at her sarcasm and reluctantly looked towards Jacob, nodding his head in acknowledgement. ”Hello Jacob,”
Having the ability to read minds of course had its perks; but it also had its downsides; like hearing your daughter’s kind of boyfriend thinking about her. What Edward had heard before now had never been anything bad, but still it wasn’t stuff he needed to know about their relationship; he’d feel better if he was in the dark... well no actually he wouldn’t, he liked knowing that there wasn’t any funny business going on but he didn’t enjoy it. He could feel Bella’s eyes on him, warning him to be on his best behaviour, so he tried his best to ignore Jacob’s thoughts; tuning them all out, focusing on the hum of human thoughts around him. Seeing Jacob’s arm around Renesmee made him tense slightly enough. Instinctively, he squeezed Bella’s hand knowing that she would keep him calm. Despite trying to drown out thoughts; a few of Rensmee’s slipped through; she didn’t like having her life mapped out for her. Oddly enough, Edward relaxed a little knowing that she wasn’t just accepting her imprint fate; at least she wanted to have options and to explore. That enough was enough to cheer up the vampire for a moment.
I’ll even let you drive the contraption,” he confirmed with a smile. Her excitement was infectious. This was why he wanted to experience things like this with her! He loved seeing her face light up with excitement and fascination, just like any young child did! Renesmee was still so young, and it was easy to forget that at times; Edward had lived many years now and had experienced many things many times, it was refreshing to find excitement in the tedious now. The current riders of the dodgems ended their ride, and soon Edward reached for Rensmee’s hand and led her into the rink. ”Which one shall we go in? You can choose the colour,” Once she’d chosen, he slipped into the seat, shifting himself to make sure there was plenty of room for her. There wasn’t a lot of space, especially for a six foot something Edward, so his knees were practically under his chin. ”Would it be pointless if I asked you to wear your seat belt?” he asked. She may be half vampire, but she was still half human.
Edward glanced across to his wife, ensuring that she and Jacob had made it into a dodgem. ”Where were you and Jacob going before you came here?” he asked, wanting to know more about how she spent her days when she was away from the family. ”Anywhere fun?” He shot a wink towards Bella as the bell sounded, sending dodgems flying in different directions and sparks flying from the ceiling. He stretched a long arm out across behind Renesmee, while the other rested upon his knee.
