His humor is very dry and sarcastic. This also makes  him quite likable - the phrase "could sell ice to an eskimo" come to mind when you think of Josh.. He has a dry, wicked, sarcastic sense of humour, and sometimes he can over step the mark and offend people; though its never really his intentions. - Boy can cook; he doesn't mind cooking and he is actually pretty good at it. He makes a mean lasagne. His grandma taught him when he was a boy and it was a hobby that just developed over the years. He also likes to eat - and he sure can eat. Burger and a New York Hotdog are his favourite foods. - Charming; He is also of course a lady's man, alas a smooth talker. Casual flings are this man's thing. He had a serious girlfriend a few years ago, but she broke his heart, which turned him into the Lothario he is today. Settling down isn't really in his plans right now. He claims he just wants to have fun, though honestly he doesn't want to get hurt again. - Independent; his parents weren't exactly reliable. They were far to selfish and preoccupied to really parent him or his sisters. They were usually left to fend for themselves. Which probably contributed to his wild behaviour. To this day, he takes care of himself and his sisters. He doesn't take hands out, and likes to earn everything for himself. - Wanderlust; Josh has an unquenchable urge to see as much of the world as possible. He doesn't like staying in one place for too long though he'll always float  back to where his sisters are eventually for a while. At the moment they are in Forks, which is how he found himself here too. - Loyal; Josh may not be loyal in the sense that you'll always know where to find him, but he is loyal to a fault as a friend/partner. He will always have your back and support you. If he can see you're being an idiot, he will tell you, not to be insulting, but to honestly help you. He loves to see the people he cares about doing well and happy. Ironic seen as he is rather selfish. He wont talk about you behind your back; he will just say everything to your face.  NEGATIVE Flight risk; he gets bored easily staying in one place. So one day he may be in town with you; the next day he's on his way to Rio for an undisclosed period of time. Its hard to build solid relationships with him, unless your understanding and persistent and patient. - Bad boy; he smokes cigarettes, he drinks heavily and he's even been known to dabble with the odd drug now and again. Nothing too heavy, just a bit of coke, weed, acid to name a few. - Speak and act first, think and ask questions later: as mentioned across in the positive column, he can come across as mean and offensive on occasions. He sometimes finds it difficult to chose between what is funny and what is right. - Hot headed: he tends to get himself involved in a lot of fights. He cannot control his temper; a trait he has definitely inherited from his parents. - Selfish: Having being brought up by parents who were selfish, Josh learnt that sometimes the best way to protect yourself from being disappointed is to not have expectations of people. So Josh tends to think of himself first and foremost.  BIOGRAPHY Joshua Michael Cazalet was born to Michelle Krosivic and Christopher Cazalet in New York City in the summer of 1982. He is the oldest child, with two younger sisters; Evie (23) and Samantha (20). Michelle and Christopher were never married. The couple met in high school and were involved in whirlwind romance; if you could call it that. From the start, they had a fiery relationship, constantly fighting and breaking up; hurling abuse at each other and even a few punches. However, they always found themselves back together shortly after as if nothing happened. It only became worse after the children became involved. Michelle found out she was pregnant with Joshua when she was twenty three years old; she refused to give up smoking and drinking throughout the nine months despite doctors warnings. People had hoped that a child would make the couple grow up and become parents but sadly, it had the opposite effect if any. It drove them further apart, fighting even more than they already did, but they always got back together whenever they separated. When Josh was two years old, Michelle discovered she was pregnant with the couple’s second. The pregnancy was a disaster from start to end; again Michelle refused to give up drinking and smoking which lead to complications through the pregnancy and Evie being born earlier than estimated. Josh was constantly left with his parent’s friends instead of being looked after by them; neither of them were very parental towards him or Evie. Josh being the oldest witnessed many of the verbal and physical fights between his parents and was extremely aware of the toxic environment he was growing up in. Not three years later, when Josh was five years old, Michelle found out that she was expecting again. It was like they were in a never ending cycle. Michelle and Christopher would argue, break up, get back together, and have a baby. It was a disaster. Surprisingly hings did not improve when Samantha was born. Things continued the way they had been until his youngest sister, Sam was 4 years old when Michelle and Christopher officially broke up and went their separate ways. Michelle continued drinking heavily and smoking like a chimney and his father dropped off the face of the earth, having no contact with his children for years. Six years later, Christopher showed up at their house with the news that he had married a younger woman named Helena Cazalet (nee Roswell). – The couple still live in Manhattan in New York City. Christopher had turned his life around, grown up and gotten himself a ‘grown up job’ of working in an office. While his mother on the other hand still remains unmarried and unemployed. Joshua spent many of his younger teenage years looking after his sisters while Michelle went out, smokes, did drugs, had sex with random guys and women and did god knows what else. In the last six years, she has come out as a lesbian. She is currently in a long term relationship with a woman named Lisa Mason; whom she moved across the country from New York to Forks for, four years ago. Josh’s relationship with both parents is strained for several reasons; one being that his parents are generally not nice people and extremely selfish, and two because he was an absolute nightmare growing up. No rules were able to contain him and he had absolutely no respect. He had nothing to lose. Growing up looking after his younger sisters put a lot of strain on the young lad. He was never disciplined, and had no concept of right and wrong or respect towards anyone other than his sisters who he adored. However, it was when he turned fourteen that he began to seriously act out; specifically against his parents. He started ditching school, hanging out with bad crowds and getting himself into constant trouble. He was a bright child, and all his teachers always saw the potential he had. However, with missing school and his lack of attention and respect towards teachers, and adults in general, his grades began to deteriorate and teachers began to stop trying with him. Being at school bored him anyway. As he got older, he’d choose to spend days getting drunk or into fights in central park instead of attending school. Several times he had even gone as far as getting himself arrested for underage drinking or being involved in bar brawls and being underage. Josh barely finished high school, just scraping by with minimal grades needed to justify a pass; despite the fact that teachers were reluctant to allow him to graduate. However, he didn’t attend graduation as he didn’t see the point. There were never any intentions of him going to college; community or Ivy League. The whole institution of education seemed pointless to him, especially when people chose to go there instead of being made to. Not that school being statutory ever made any difference to him mind. His youngest sister Sam however is currently attending the University of Seattle and he is immensely proud of her. Upon finishing high school and after it was confirmed that he wasn’t going to have to repeat senior year (not that he would have anyway), he got out of his moms house and started to travel. He travelled from state to state, living rough some times and others staying in hostels. He worked whatever jobs he could find in order to have some money; all of which were awful and underpaid but necessary in order to be able to eat, live and continue moving around. Occasionally, he’d return back to New York to see his sisters and few friends that he kept in touch with but he soon became restless and continued travelling; mainly around that states thanks to lack of money. As a gift to himself for his twenty first birthday; Josh applied for a credit card; and idiotically was accepted. He was then able to rack up some credit card debt when he treated himself to travelling around Europe for six weeks. He visited France, Spain, Greece, Turkey, Italy and Prague. Upon returning from Europe, Josh had a pit stop in New York to catch up with his sisters for a week before heading to Chicago to meet up with some travel friends. This is when he met Melissa Graham. She was a year younger and was training to become a nurse; and on track with a GPA of 4.0. They dated for around eighteen months, during which time he settled mainly in Chicago; renting an apartment right on the Chicago River. He was completely besotted with Mel and was finally able to see himself settling down, and having a normal life with her; something that his own parents have never provided for him. He still travelled to various places, thanks to his desire to see as much of the world as possible; however he limited his vacations to a weekend and often Melissa travelled with him when he had online classes she could take. He was planning on taking her to Morocco that summer as a treat for her working so hard in school. Sadly, things turned sour, quickly. One afternoon, Josh returned home to their apartment one day after a shift at a local bar which he was working at in order to save up for Morocco. He had intended to surprise her and take her on a date night to Wrigley Field to watch her home team; despite the fact he himself was a Yankees fan. Upon entering the apartment, he knew something was wrong as there was a random male jacket on the sofa and various other clothing items scattered all over the place. Josh caught Melissa in their bed with her high school boyfriend, Dan. She completely broke his heart. Upon seeing them together, Josh had flipped and dragged Dan out of the bed and proceeded to beat the crap out of him. It was only when a neighbour burst in having heard Melissa screaming that he was dragged off of him. Grabbing only his leather jacket and passport, he left the apartment and never looked back. With his heartbroken, he swore that he would never fall in love again. He resigned himself to only having casual hook-ups with girls, never letting them get too close to him. Josh took a cab straight to O’Hare airport and jumped on the first plane that was leaving; which happened to be going to Vegas. This of course meant that he lost a few weeks to excessive drinking and drug use and lots of sex with random women trying to dull the pain. His life continued this way for the following two years; refusing to commit to anything or anyone. He travelled more than usual, stealing and scheming in order to get money to buy drugs and alcohol as well as continue moving around. After travelling around Brazil for six months, living in some carnival drag queens basement, Josh decided that he needed to settle for a while close to his sisters in Forks where his mom had moved them a couple years ago. It was becoming clearer to him that he was heading down a dark path which would inevitably lead to his early demise. He is currently renting a small apartment in a dodgy complex on the outskirts of town. He waits tables at The Borderline - a Mexian Restaurant in Port Angeles. He still drinks heavily and dabbles in the occasional drug use, but nothing compared to how he was three months ago.
