I t wasn’t that Forks was a small town, it was just too small for Mason to feel at home in, at least Port Angeles had a little more to offer. Everyone in Forks was too nice, not to mention the whiff of werewolf coming up from the local res meant part of the area was off limits. Mason wasn’t keen on fighting a pre-teen pup just yet. He had no issue with them, so staying off their land was a lot easier than causing trouble for no reason. He’d been listening in to people in the area, trying to find out as much about the Cullens as possible before deciding whether or not to bother introducing himself. Sure, the way Jane had reacted had him intrigued. It would be good for him to make an alliance with these ‘Veggie Vamps’, even if it was purely to get under the skin of the Volturi. Vamp Royalty, pfft. He hated them and everything they stood for. It was more like vampires on a power trip rather than actually laying down the law. It was a cloudy spring day, he looked around as he wandered through the park. There weren’t many people out, and very few came too close to him - it was almost as if they knew without knowing what he was. Not that he would harm anyone, he was more in it for the fun and games with criminals, they were always so easy to scare. Karma came with a big, fanged bite. Mason didn’t consider himself a ‘good guy’, but if it meant that he was less of a monster from time to time then it worked for him. It had taken him a long time to come to terms with this new life, and even now he didn’t fully agree with it. Mason came to a bench, it was still damp from the rain they’d had the previous night…but it didn’t bother him. He took a seat and watched as joggers with dogs in tow passed by, glancing at him and his extraordinary eyes before quickening their pace a little. He smirked, little did they know how close to ’death’ they actually were. After all, that is what Mason was. The Grim Reaper, just with more style and grace, and no dingy cloak to hide his vampiric features. WORDS; 393 TAG; OPEN |
