S o this was Forks huh? Pathetic little town, full of people that it seemed had settled here and never left. How ‘small town’ of them. Mason smiled cockily as he caught a number of young girls scurry past him and stare. Naturally they were drawn to his face, but they didn’t want to go there. Mason was bad, bad news. But still, humans were humans, nothing changed there. It looked as though some cheesy old school carnival was in town…yay…Mason rolled his eyes, humans were so predictable it was nauseating. Still, intrigue got the better of him, so what better than to check it all out. He wandered in amongst the crowds, the smell of human blood was intoxicating, but there was no desire to feed tonight. These were all innocent lives, and he’d swiped a number of blood bags from the local hospital earlier in the day. Worst case scenario, he’d duck out and have a pint or three later. The rides in this place looked about ready to break - that would be interesting, a number of casualties resulting in uncontrollable bleeding out would be, um…well it wasn’t worth thinking about. All he could do was hope that never happened. Closing his eyes, Mason took a breath and turned to head toward the booths, that might be somewhat enjoyable. As he checked out a number of the rip-off games on offer, Mason caught a whiff of what could only be described as vile, old wet dog. Ew. So this town had werewolves, figured. Monsters everywhere it seemed, and not just the ones that were like him. This made Mason curious, what secrets was this town hiding exactly? Coming across a bench, Mason thought it best to perhaps sit and observe, see if he could figure out where this god awful stench was coming from. His cell buzzed, rolling his eyes he checked the number. Mandy…ohhhh right, the chick in New Orleans he had ditched a few days ago. Oops, she was probably pretty mad, and confused, by now. Shoving it back into his pocked, Mason pulled the collar of his leather jacket up and rested his elbows on the table in front of him.

Ivy had been itching to get out of the house she had been cooped up with her brother and he was doing her head in. Wining about girls and school and other things she really did not care too much about as it was coming from his mouth. She had not been in the house long and he was already annoying her. There was no work to be done for the pack so she could not make that her excuse. But her grandparents could tell that she was getting frustrated. Even in her room she could not escape his ego. Ivy felt like it was seeping through the walls from his bedroom. She rolled over and looked at her phone all of her friends were talking about a carnival. She thought as the idea popped into her head she could go even i it wasn't with friends blend in, let the annoying brother wash off her. Ivy pulled herself off the bed and pulled on a black dress, some boots and her favourite red lippy and she was out the door. She had left her grandmother a note telling her where she had gone and not to wait up for her.
She was not shifting tonight she liked how nice she looked in a effortless put together sort of way. She called a cab and waited outside. She was hoping to slip away before her brother came and noticed she was not in the house that way he would not tag along and make her night a misery. But tonight for the first time in a long time the Taxi was on time and rather quick at getting to her. She slipped into the cold leather seats and told him to go to forks for the Carnival. He made small talk and ivy communicated but all her attention was on the outside world and the growing darkness. She hoped it looked pretty at the carnival. She so hoped it would. The short drive flew buy and Ivy payed and excited the cab. She looked up and it looked like everyone had came out to the little ordeal. It was a small place so she knew it would be busy. Ivy slipped in with the crowd and mingled. The fair was filled with teen loved up and Ivy longed for it but she would not put herself down tonight was for her. Going with the crowds of people she wondered around for a while looking at all the lights and laughter. She had not even thought to look for danger. She felt like a normal teenager for once, for the first time in a long time.
Ivy slowly made her way over to where all the games were being played. How teenage girls where getting things won for them and parents desperately trying to win the big one for the child. She smiled as she wondered. Though the shifter in her had missed it's food so she grabbed a drink and sat at a bench watching all the people. She liked to sit back and watch. It made her think about what she would be like if she was not a shifter? For the first time since she got to the place she tasted the air. It was full of sweet candy floss smell, popcorn and all the rest. But an underlying smell the smell she wished she had not smell a blood sucker. She guessed they would be attracted to the place high body count and all. Her eyes looked over the crowd and she tried to look normal as possible sipping her coke.

T he carnival was busy, buzzing with chatter, people laughing, screaming - it was all just a bit much. How were humans so easily pleased? It was like one little thrill ride and that was it, they couldn’t contain themselves. Jheez. It seemed so ridiculous now. Mason signed and rolled his eyes, after living on this planet for a hundred odd years he struggled to see the thrill in something as lame as a carnival anymore. It was more fun wrestling bears, or jumping off buildings, getting into a bar fight…those things interested him more. The smell of wet dog was filling his head - gross. It was kind of giving him a headache, not that it was really possible for him to get a headache. Still. Mason sat and watched a couple, laughing and playing - looking totally in love. Gross, love. Who needed that in their lives? Didn’t it just get in the way? They would never belong to themselves, only to each other - stuck together in their pathetic human lives, growing old and eventually dying. See, that is what every love story looked like through the eyes of an incredibly old, bitter vampire. They were all the same. Bored, he carried on drinking in the faces and actions of the humans around him. They all acted the same, it was like watching a really bad old movie from the fifties. The world had changed drastically, yet it surprised him that in every small town he visited, humans were all the same. It’s like they didn’t evolve with the rest of the world… Then he saw her, the little mutt causing him all this agro. She was small, easy to take on - not in such a public place though. Young too, she couldn’t have been older than eighteen…years ahead of her to torture and chase vampires with her wolfy ways. She must have already transformed for that scent to be radiating from her - that meant she would know he was here.. Oooh time for a game. Mason liked games, they were his favourite. His eyes narrowed as he watched her pick up a drink from a food truck - she then sat herself on a bench not too far ahead from him. He smiled to himself, she was surveying the area - obviously his stink had reached her. Let the fun begin.. Mason pushed up from his seat and made his way over to the young shifter. As he wandered over to where she sat, he noticed a couple of humans stare. He felt his ego inflate slightly, not that it needed it. His face drew everyone in, and the crimson colour of his eyes made him impossible to forget. He rounded the bench and glanced down at her - taking a seat next to her. “So this place isn’t so dead after all little wolf,” he whispered, knowing full well she’d be able to hear him in amongst the noise of their surroundings. “What’s a young pup like you doing in a place like this?” He looked her over - she was pretty, innocent. Way too easy to infiltrate - maybe she would spill the secrets of this town, he had yet to come across anything that was as supernatural as he was.

Ivy was sitting watching the growing crowds the children getting filled up on junk food and candy. Her shifter sensors were working though looking around even how hard she was trying to just forget about it. She wanted a night for her no silliness with vampires. She longed to be a normal high school girl who did not have to care about these things. Sipping at her coke she tried to ignore the urge to go and look for the vampire. She was surprised their way not any more she had smelt. But she knew the Cullen's smell as they had an agreement and have crossed paths a few times with the pack, however this was the only vampire she could smell. This may have been because he was close. She looked around again, shifting herself in her seat. She could not place it with all the people around it was hard to pinpoint.
The smell was getting stronger had he found her before she had found it? She wondered as she looked at the passing people more intensely and wondered which one could be the blood sucker. But then a strange man sat next to her. He was like a hand crafted marble statue to good to be walking the earth. Then it hit her as he started talking the stench and what he really was. No one could be that good looking if they were not something ‘magical’ about them.
Ivy liked to think of what happened to them in both sense a vampire and her shifting ability as magic. It was the only way she could explain it to herself. Others would say it is a little naive but she wanted to think that and she was never going to change that. Even her brother thought it was a lam that she thought that way. She just loved the magic of stories and if she thought her life was one that was good for her. It helped her deal with all the bad and strange things that have happened so far in her few years on the earth.
Though she had to stop herself from snarling, that would not be very lady like she replied “ no but someone is here” She said as she held her breath. She often wondered if she had not been a shifter what they would smell like, would she be like one of the many teenage girls gawking his way now? But that was not the life she had been given she had this one, the one where she had to protect the gawking teenagers. “What are you doing here all the warm hot blood attract you an easy meal?” She snapped back at him. Did she really look small to him. “It’s none of your business what i am doing here” She said finally answering his question. She had to try and keep her voice low so people would not hear or look her way. This was not a conversation or meeting that anyone outside of their species needed to hear or see. Ivy turned to him looking him over again. She could tell by his body language that he was a confident little swine like her brother that was the last thing she wanted to deal with a cocky, too big for his boots, vampire. He was good looking to her still but she had to shake the fact. He was bad new. “You know what i am but yet you have came over, does it give you enjoyment winding people like me up?” She said trying to study the thing that had placed itself next to her. Ivy had started breathing through her mouth to not smell him but now she could taste him. So she resorted to her coke to get rid of the bad taste in her mouth.

M ason’s mouth twisted up in a smug sort of smile, so the wolf could be funny…it wasn’t exactly an insult considering he was pretty dead, and had been for over a hundred years – though to the natural human eye he still looked a dashing twenty five, fresh faced and yet slightly intimidating. It all worked in his favour – the girls in the bars, drunk and vulnerable, always fell for his nice guy act. He wasn’t all that much of a nice guy though – always finding ways to benefit himself over everyone else in his life. “Well now, that’s not very nice…I’d like to think of myself as extremely well preserved,” he jested, leaning back a little and relaxing. She wasn’t going to do anything with all these humans about. Glancing around the area, watching a couple of lovestruck teenage girls fawn over him from a distance, Mason lowered his voice, “you’re very quick to judge, I’m guessing your encounters with my kind haven’t been all that good…” he frowned at her. She was quite tightly wound, and it only made him want to push her further – but this was not the time nor the place, “I like to think of myself as better than that, I’ll have you know I only feed on blood bags from the hospitals – and the odd criminal I find,” he placed his hand on his chest as if he was saintly or something. Not that he was, Mason was pretty sure he sold his soul to the devil the day he turned, but what could do about that now, it hadn’t been his choice to become this creature. Still, he made an effort to not be the total monster everyone would think of him as if they knew – criminals were bad people and deserved to be ‘made redundant’ to this life. “Hey, miss defensive, I was merely showing an interest…” he smiled at her, she was feisty and seemed to put up a fight, like many others he’d come across. Shifters were a strange breed – so temperamental, rub them up the wrong way and they could backfire like a canon gone wrong. Always entertaining to watch, but not always the best move. Mason had many scars from shifter fights – at least she wasn’t a proper child of the moon. Now they really were trouble. But female shifters were the most hot-headed beings, he put it down to the fact they were girls, and girls were known for being completely irrational at times and flying off the handle at the smallest things. Holding his hands up slightly, he laughed “you are extremely easy to wind up, and that was not my intention. I know what you are, yes, but I am no threat – I knew you’d pick up my scent so I’m saving us both making a scene,” Mason was the king of wind ups, but in all fairness he hadn’t wanted her to go shifter in the middle of a crowd. He watched her sip her coke, he had no clue what that stuff tasted like but it looked grim, brown sugary weirdness – and people thought drinking blood was bad! “Anyway, I’m Mason…it would say it’s nice to meet you but it would definitely be nicer if you’d relax, I’ve had over a hundred years practise with this I’m not going to turn into some mass-murder, I’ve only just got into town!” She definitely had her back up and Mason was going to do everything he could to get her to chill out. Shifters, what headaches.

Ivy had to keep in mind where she was and control her shifting. She was in control but she did not know how well he would push her buttons. She looked around at the crowed, a few teens where looking her way but she knew that was more for the marbled man at her side then anything else. She huffed under her breath but she knew he would probably still hear it. With the first words out of his mouth she could tell the underline of self worth he had for himself. Thinking himself of more of a god like creacher then a parasite on the world. Ivy shook the thought from her head she had to keep a clear head here. She knew she was a female and a bit touchy feelie when it comes to her emotions so she had to keep them in check she just had to.
Ivy's night of getting herself out and having fun had now changed into being this vampires personal wind up toy. She did not know why but she guessed she had not sat down and had a chat with a vampire before so she did not really know how to act. She bit her lip in annoyance as more teens where looking at her and giving rather puzzled looks. She did not like it one bit. The centre of attention was not her thing it was her brothers. She just did what was needed of her. When he introduced himself she was puzzled give her real name, or a fake and if he finds out otherwise act coy? But the latter was not her. “I'm Ivy and i don't think iv ever sat down with a vampire and had a chat before……..you know where not meant to get along and all” She said a little under her breath at parts so the busy people would not hear their peculiar convocation. Ivy finished her drink and had not wanted to look at the man she was concentrating on her breathing as to not get too much of his sent. Though him sat next to her was impossible and to where was this strange convocation going to take her.
“Stranger things have happened new vampires in town usually spells trouble” She said looking up at him. He did still look like a chizaled god she darted her eyes away and looked for a near bin. Would walking away discourage him and make him leave her alone she wondered. She got up and walked over through the crowds to the bin. She still felt like she was being watched.

M ason wasn’t about to cause a scene in the middle of a human event. It was too much hassle and plenty of these little human-beans were oblivious to the actual world they lived in. Lots of monsters under the bed that they had yet to see. So this little wolf actually did have a name, that was a start. He smirked, she was still very off-ish…totally normal for her to be. It was in their nature to be enemies - but enemies were so boring. Mason preferred to have people that could be of use to him at some point. He was too old for feuds with shifters and the like. “That’s because I’m betting you’ve never had the chance to?” He grinned, “that’s only because you assume we are all the same. And when you assume…you make an ass out of u and me,” he laughed. He made a funny. He settled down a bit where he was sat, Mason could get on here…especially as there seemed to be more supernatural activity here than meets the eye. He could pick up the scent of at least three other vampires in the mix, as well as another mutt. How little humans actually saw what was around them. “Well now, I didn’t say I was here to cause trouble…” He pouted a little, trying to pull off the whole innocent act. It very rarely worked. “You shifters, you all need to chill out.” He smiled at her, Mason wasn’t used to hanging out with them either but needs must. He needed to understand this town from the perspective of a local. As she stood from her seat, Mason smirked to himself. Little wolf wasn’t playing ball. He got up and followed her over to the bin, his grin never leaving his face. “So, from you’re little secret I’m guessing you live over on the Res?” He’d caught the scent of wolves on his way over from Seattle and had chosen to steer clear. Messing with unknown wolfies would be a terrible idea, especially as he’d made the decision to stick around for a bit. “What exactly is there to do around here…apart from the apparent desire from young girls to get themselves into trouble,” he glanced around - girls were staring, Ivy clearly wasn’t one of the popular girls over here. They looked at her with daggers for having his attention…little did they know this little wolf was probably doing them all a huge favour. WORDS; 439 TAG; @ivyadderson

Ivy let out a sigh when he followed her. She knew he had done nothing wrong but she did not want to get her back up and shift in front of all these people. Plus she was out there to have a good time away from her annoying brother and maybe some harmless flirting with boys. Even though she did that badly. “You're just adding to your list of traits aren't you a stalker now” She muttered as he nois picked up on a fellow wolf she knew the scent and with hm being here she thought she could relax. If anything goes south now not the smallest Wolf in the pack had to do something about it. Ivy was overly aware of all the girls looking at her. She had the attention of a good lucking guy to them he was a god like man. To her he stank rotten but she was getting used to the smell mixing with the cotton candy and popcorn.
Ivy pushed a strand of her hair back and slowly walked deeper into the carnival. She knew he would follow he had asked her questions after all that she was trying to answer with the best no snappy attitude. He had gotten her back up but that was not her. Ivy had not really calmed back down since her first shift anything got her ticked off it seemed. “Not originally, but i am now” She probably had given too much of herself away their but she was trying to be nice and have a conversation with the guy. “Apart from the high number of supernatural's you my friend have just entered into the most boring town in the state and country.” The carnival was probably the highlight of everyone's year in town. Business would have been good for people. Ivy rolled her eyes on the mention of girls. “Well i hope i’m not in that statistic, but everyone know vampires have the godly type looks so they're just getting hot under the collar i guess” She said as she locked eyes with a girl who was glaring at her, moving her eyes quickly Ivy lingered. “Why hear?” She blurted. “I mean their is how many better places to go then this miserable bad weathered town and you chose here why?” He was asking questions so she would too. Ivy kept noticing more and more girls lookin. It was more him that made their heads turn but if only they knew what he was like, the monster he was. “Do you like all the attention you are getting?” She asked as she slowly walked.

I n amongst the crowd, Mason caught whiff of another dog…so the little wolf wasn’t alone. It wasn’t like Mason was set on causing any sort of trouble, sure he liked to have some fun from time to time, but with the Volturi lurking he knew better. Frowning as he followed Ivy, he sniffed. “I like stalking, people fascinate me,” he said sarcastically. Realistically people annoyed the hell out of him, he was so used to being alone…but these days it seemed better to surround himself with allies. At least that way he felt safer than being completely alone, he had no power the Volturi would want, and he had no leverage to speak of yet. He wandered behind her, heading deeper into the crowds but keeping a safe enough distance that people…mainly the wolf lurking behind the scenes…would see he wasn’t a threat. “So where are you from, originally?” He was hoping the normality of their conversation would prove to the wolf that he meant no harm - his business wasn’t with her, more with the other vampires running around town. “Ah great, I get recommended to head over to the single most boring town in the whole of the United States. Perfect.” Naturally he wasn’t impressed, he liked a bit of action…a bit of fun. Boring was just that…boring. A sly smirk spread across his face, “going by your reaction I’m guessing you are most definitely in that statistic…you just happen to be in denial.” His tone was very ‘matter of fact’ the girl could pretend to be a goody-two-shoes all she wanted but deep down Mason knew supernatural beings all had the tendency to seek out trouble, whether they admitted to it or not. Her question surprised him, he came to a stop. “I was told to come here by someone extremely close to me before she met the eternal death, so excuse me for following her advice,” he was huffing now, not many people could get his back up so easily. “And yes, I do…it gives me something to do whilst I’m resting from fighting crime,” it wasn’t technically a lie, he did fight criminals. With his teeth. He caught up with her and matched her pace, “what about you, Little Miss Wolfy, any guys catching your eye or are you that much of a goody-goody?” So quickly, so easily, Mason was back to his teasing, it wasn’t hard with Ivy - she did seem quite easy to rile up.

Did he really want to know were she was really from. She could never tell if he was genuine. He was a vampire after all and she has had drilled into her that they are all bad and evil. She sighed and thought a long moment before responding to his question. She would be honest she did always try and give people the benefit of the doubt. She was not like many other people who would rip his head off just for looking at her. She liked to be calculated and get her facts together like a scientist. Thought vampires always maid her blood boil. "Originally me and by brother are from Seattle, but my mothers from her so when we first changed we moved here" She speared him the walk out mother or anything to personal about her life. She did not trust him fully yet. Though through the pack she knew they could trust vampires it is still a little hard for hr not to snap.
a coy smile crossed her face when he said he had been recommended to come her. She could not help but gloat. She did not really have a chose to come her he on the other hand opted to come her. "You listened to them....you know there is something called the internet now and you can resurched places" She said she was a little happy that he was a bit foolish and had not done his homework. This place was nice if it had better weather. that would be a plus for her then she would not have to chance vampires off everyday. "I think you need to reevaluate your friends" Ivy said turning to him. She still could feel a thousand and one eyes one her from every hot blooded teen girl there.
Just as her gloating had started her lips sent into a thin line. yes he was handsome but that was just the vampire affect if he wasn't he would still be out of her league. Everyone was. Ivy held back a sniger when he said fighting crime. " Are you a modern day superhero then? someone like batman creeps around in the dead of night, but instead of arresting them up drink them dry?" It was peculiar to Ivy that he chose to do that. But she commended him if she had to drink blood she would like to say that was a good way to do it. Or she would opt for a blood bag just like a cold refrigerated drink right? She turned to try and hid her obvious embarrassment and total disapproving of his questions about her love life. No one ever looked her way. Ivy said rather quietly "NO ... no one looks at me" It was barely over a whisper she hoped he did not catch it. But he was a freek so he would have. She looked around to were she had wondered in the carnival as she had been talking. Through the stairs of girls she noticed they were near a ride, "Come on lets see how you like heights blood sucker." She said as she headed for the drop tower. They were at the carnival and Ivy was determined to have some fun.
