BIOGRAPHY Leah was born in March 1986, and eventually became the older brother to Seth Clearwater. She grew up close to her family, and quite a different person than she's known as these days. She had more adventure in her, more life and energy, and it's probably what would later play into her becoming an attractive person. However she always remained close to family, namely Emily Young - her cousin - who she pretty much grew up with. They glided through elementary and middle school together, and before long had started high school. By this time, Leah began dating as a freshman. Her first boyfriend - and her first love - became Sam Uley and they were in a serious relationship for three years. Her love for him only grew as the years went on, and he made her better in every way, even more pioneering and ambitious than she'd ever been growing up. He gave her life, he was her life... But all that changed when she started her junior year of high school and unexpectedly, Sam disappeared. Things immediately went downhill, she went into a panic, a frenzy practically, and by the time Sam returned without warning two weeks later, he was pretending like it hadn't ever happened. But she knew something had changed; he, Sam, had become a different person overnight, and she didn't know what she could do to help. For once in their three years, she felt totally clueless and helpless with him. However, she had the good grace to give him space to sort out his problems, and she waited, hopeful, that he would return to his old self before long. But he never did. Not long after that, Emily visited La Push and Sam met her for the first time - and immediately Imprinted on her. Of course, Leah had no idea what was happening, especially when he came by to break up with her the very same day he met Emily. She found herself numb at first, in complete horror, but later when Emily told her he'd started pursuing her, the rage began to sink in, and the betrayal. She couldn't believe this was her Sam, and lost it with him. He wouldn't quit pursuing Emily though despite everything, and Leah desperately relied on her rejection to end everything... but it never came. Eventually, the pair of them entered into a relationship, and Leah gave up, turning into the pained, bitter person she has become nowadays. She can hardly be blamed for it. In 2006, Leah starts experiencing severe mood swings, and she picks fights and arguments for no real reason. She's already a bad-tempered person in general, but the sudden changes in her body are making it worse and before she knows it, she's exploded into a wolf for the first time, and destroys a couch in the process. Because of this, her father has a fatal heart attack and Seth, who witnessed it all, also has the shift triggered in him. So both Clearwater siblings become wolves, with their father dead, and their mother struggling to keep their family together. Leah believes, understandably, that her transformation caused her father's death, so she feels responsible for it. Immediately, she hates being a wolf, not only because of that, but because she's forced to join Sam's pack, and have a telepathic bond with him that she can't shake. She's so infuriated by it, she has zero problem bringing her anger and bitterness into the pack's thoughts at every opportunity, thinking they deserve to know precisely how she feels about being a wolf. Despite how much she hates it though, she does display loyalty to her pack. She fights with them against the newborn army alongside the Cullens. Later, after Jacob runs away from the pack and returns to defend Bella and her unborn baby, she eventually joins him for the opportunity to leave Sam and their telepathic connection behind for good. Joining Jacob's pack proves to be one of the best decisions she's yet made, as it makes her into a far more positive person than she used to be, as she doesn't feel the need to bring her bitterness and pain into the telepathic connection she shares with them any longer.
