| B ella grinned, her daughter had managed to pick up the artistic abilities her father had - and luckily had managed to avoid picking up Bella’s talent of attracting trouble. “There we go, everyones happy - Renesmee gets to paint and we can cover any Rosalie induced damage…” she nodded, her whole family made her happy. It was so nice to be a part of something this special. Of course, people from the town still speculated - and very few had seen Bella since the wedding, but gaining control of her thirst had meant it had always been difficult to get into town and spend time around humans. Hoping that everything would go well today would give her an idea of how well she could face being around them in general. She rolled her eyes and shook her head. “Edward,” she challenged him…looking at him with a stern look on her face. “It is no different, you may have been an old man deep down but I was still what everyone considered a child…” It had been a relationship that had baffled both her mother and Charlie. She had been just seventeen when they met and by the age of eighteen she was getting married, very few had understood the connection - even Bella herself as a human hadn’t been sure why Edward had been so infatuated. “I agree, and if she is anything like either of us she will make that time, but you can’t force it on her. It’d be like when Charlie grounded me for life…” okay it hadn’t lasted all that long, but Bella hoped Edward got the idea.
It was true, the first time Bella had stepped foot in the Cullen house - she had been surprised to not find dungeons and coffins…but that was all storybook facts and coverups the Volturi had spent years putting into place to keep the world from their secret. “Alright, alright…let’s not go bother Aro with such silly details,” she tensed a little at the mention of Aro and the Volturi. That was still a sore subject.
In less than a blink of a human eye, the two were out of the Haunted House in one swift movement. Letting out a breath, Bella was relieved for feel the fresher air fill her lungs. Sure it was still a bit tainted out here but nothing compared to the small confined space they’d been in. She followed her husband without any resistance, lacing his fingers with his. “Thank you,” she whispered, mentally kicking herself for not being more in control. She let out a small laugh, “That would be a sight,” the town would go into chaos if the two of them started vomiting blood. Climbing into the car, Bella smiled - this was ten times easier. “Let’s do this!” The feeling of being a teenager all over again hit her, she felt excited and happy to be here with Edward.

I'M IN LOVE WITH THE SHAPE OF YOU girl, you know I want your love, your love was handmade for somebody like me. | E dward had never been one for painting per say, he did enjoy looking at art. He was a perfectionist and painting had always been one thing that tried but was never completely happy with; the colours weren’t right, the lines weren’t straight enough or were too straight or it was generally too messy looking. Sure to any human eye or anyone else for that matter it would probably be fantastic, but to him, it was never acceptable. But sit him in front of a piano and he’d play for days; he’d composed many pieces over the years some of which he was immensely proud of including Bella’s lullaby, Esme’s song and Renesmee’s lullaby. His daughter on the other hand was extremely talented in whatever she tried; including painting. It wasn’t even just his proud father goggles that made him think that either, she genuinely was a special creature. It was like all of Edward’s best bits and all of Bella’s best bits had been perfectly combined in her to make a perfect hybrid being. He couldn’t help but grin at Bella’s solution. Hopefully they would avoid any Rosalie induced damage anyway but it was always good to have a back-up plan.
In the early nineteen hundreds when Edward had been a fragile human, life had been extremely different in all ways. Women generally stayed at home and raised a family while men went off to work, women rarely showed skin and sex was saved until after marriage, and men were often smartly dressed in suits; well the ones that were from the Mason’s social standing were anyway. Men and women courted with an escort before becoming engaged and then married when they were then expected to start their own family. Of course today, things were different. But Edward’s morals had stayed the same, forever frozen with them. That paired with the mating instinct that vampires had, had made the attraction to Bella so much stronger, he had been like a magnet to her; as her mother had once pointed out. ”But you had experienced seventeen years of your life,” he reminded her ”not just a measly two. Seventeen years of discovering who you were, what you liked and what you wanted. He imprinted on her the moment she was born, she’ll never be her own person. That concerns me,” he admitted out loud, he mouth falling into a frown. Edward wanted nothing but the best for his daughter, and one of those things were choices. He knew that Bella was right, forcing anything on his daughter was bound to back fire on him and make her resent him in the long run; and with them being immortal; it would haunt him for years to come. ”I know,” he sighed ”You’re right, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it. Though I’m definitely on Charlie’s side now I know what he was going through,”
The bronze-haired vampire chuckled, his eyes crinkling slightly with humour. Oh how he had wished he had been able to hear her thoughts that day! He had been used to listening to other human’s thoughts about vampires; especially when they were planning their Halloween costumes, but Bella had never been just an average human. ”Shame, I’m sure he’s just dying to know our views on things. We know how much he’d dying to get us on side and to join the Volturi guard,” He had a feeling that soon the royal vampires would start putting their feelers back out, things had been to quiet on the Volturi front; they just had to be plotting something. Alice had been keeping an eye on decisions being made, but they wouldn’t be the first vampires to play with the holes in her visions. Aro wasn’t stupid.
”I’m sorry, I should have thought,” It of course had been a stupid idea. Being in a confined space with countless humans had been a test for him, so god knows what it had been like for Bella. She had taken so well to vampire life as well as interacting with the occasional human; namely Charlie, Edward sometimes forgot that she was still relatively a new born. It was like she had been in his life for years and years. She never failed to amaze him. He didn’t have to be able to hear her thoughts to know that she was annoyed at herself. ”You did wonderful in there though; anyone else would have snapped and drained half of them in there before anyone could scream,” he tried to reassure her. Thankfully they were able to put the event behind them as the ride came to a stop and Edward opened the bar, allowing Bella to climb into the car. ”Can you imagine? People would think that we were bringing up a lung or something,” He could see the headlines now, “local teens literally cough up lungs after carnival ride”. ”I can’t say I’ve ever been on one of these,” he admitted, pulling the bar back over their legs and interlocking his fingers over it. He was actually having the best day with his wife.
