Bella laughed, Edward could act as innocently as he wanted – it was still no surprise that the Cullen’s had a library somewhere. They definitely had pretty much everything they could possibly think of – including an island. “Well, I’ll definitely be looking into that one then, can’t waste a resource like that now can we?” She did enjoy reading – a lot – to be fair, so this whole idea had pulled on her interest slightly. Cocking one eyebrow, Bella felt a wicked grin spread across her face, she nodded enthusiastically before planting a small, quick kiss on Edwards cheek. “I’m up for that, she whispered.
Bella had considered options of how to keep Charlie in her life – but it was selfish thinking and something she wasn’t set on doing. Need to know. That’s what they agreed, if he found out too much the Volturi would for sure kill him – and he, Bella knew, would want this life or understand it. He already didn’t understand what had happened to her, he just knew she was…different. “Of course we will,” Bella put on her best fake smile and tried to put it to the back of her mind. Thank god Edward wasn’t able to see what complex…and probably unnecessary things were going on in here. She just dreaded the day she lost everyone.
Running these days was a simple, yet thrilling experience for Bella. Becoming a vampire made her more coordinated and so she appreciated the simple things in life. Feeling the air whip around her made her feel more free than ever before. She heard Edwards comment and laughed, he was the fastest out of the family so getting a head start was more than required. Slowing her pace as she reached the edge of the forest, Bella made her way to the ravine – the water was crashing against the side below her and it bought back grainy, human memories she had tried to forget.
As Edward joined her, Bella lifted her gaze. This definitely wasn’t something he was keen on but just looking out at the scenery around them made Bella feel uplifted. She smiled, and shook her head. Maybe one day they’d cliff dive, but sensing her husband’s previous reservations when she’d suggested the idea – Bella thought it best to find something else to do. “On second thoughts, why don’t we head into Forks – it’s been a while, plus it might be nice to see Charlie…” all that talk before had made her feel a little homesick, if that was even possible.
